SDSU professor Dr. William (Bill) Tong awarded with honorary Ph.D. from Tbilisi State University

On February 9, 2018, distinguished SDSU professor and Chair of the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department, Dr. William (Bill) Tong, was awarded an honorary Ph.D. from Tbilisi State University (TSU). The ceremony was held within the framework of TSU's 100 year anniversary celebration and noted Dr. Tong's contribution to the STEM fields in Georgia.

Dr. Tong, alongside a group of distinguished professors from TSU, will chair the newly created ACS (American Chemical Society) committee at TSU in support of the international accreditation process for its Chemistry and Biochemistry programs.
