From the Georgian government, the Minister of Education Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia Dr. Mikheil Chkhenkeli was in attendance, along with Catherine Schweitzer, Deputy Chief of Mission and Public Affairs Officer of the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi. We were also joined by Jonathan Brooks, Deputy Vice President of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, and Magda Magradze, CEO of the Millennium Foundation.

SDSU President Adela de la Torre addressed SDSU’s commitment to maintaining a presence in Georgia, stating, "If our students, those with the least resources, have the greatest opportunities, we will transform communities and nations. SDSU is committed to this goal in the context of its strategic plan. One of the goals of our strategic plan is to be one SDSU and that one SDSU includes the Republic of Georgia".
