Georgian Technical University

Georgian Technical University (GTU) was founded in 1922 as a polytechnic faculty of TSU. Transformed in 1928 into an independent Georgian Polytechnical Institute, it achieved university status by 1990. GTU has provided over 60 percent of Georgia’s engineering, chemistry and scientific industry specialists in the last 80 years, and its scientific library is one of the largest in Georgia, comprised of more than 1,254,000 books, many of which are unique and rare.
